This is a collection of things that we take for granted that are akin to something out of a fairytale; magic already exists, and if magic existed, we wouldn't care.
Water, a resource we need to survive, regularly falls from the sky. If left alone in small amounts, it will slowly disappear into thin air.
A ball in the sky emits beams of happy, and people will go into withdrawal without receiving them. Looking at it for too long will blind you. We use small amounts of its energy that are emitted by its mere existence to power artifacts, and some sun cult members will bask in its presence and have their skin color changed as a sign of their devotion.
We have unique symbols embedded on a small part of our body. We use a small portion of them (fingerprints) for identification.
I have a machine that cools my house by rapidly expanding and contracting mass on either side of an insulating barrier.
If one collects too much mass in one location, it begins to attract other objects.
Magnets. One can also use a magnet to magnetize another object.
Ferrofluid!?

People live in extreme cold by creating protective pockets out of the surrounding environment.
