The Rain World GeoGuesser is my most successful public project. I do not have any tracking or analytics on this site, but I do have it authenticated with the Google Search Console which gives me search traffic for basically only the GeoGuesser (as noone is looking my stuff up otherwise). At time of writing this in 2025, well after its release and any hubbub (it is actually not even listed on the mod lists anymore), it has received 2600 clicks in Google in the past year, 45% of which were for some variant of "RWGG"/"Rain World GeoGuesser" directly.
I made it primarily in eight (frenzied) days in 2022, returning to it a few times later to improve things, add a multiplayer mode, and add support for the Downpour DLC. When Downpour first released I ported the base code for the new room system (which was hell) and shared a clone of the in-game map on day one for:
- those who were lost and wanted to look at a map
- helpers to more easily figure out where lost people who didn't want to look at a map were in order to give them a general hint
A big thanks to:
- Henpemaz for his help with Rain World's different coordinate systems and his improvements on AndrewFM's original room screenshot exporter
- AndrewFM for the original room screenshots which made this and RWBG possible, and calling this "very cool"

I think u could do that by cropping a screenshot and pointing it out on a map without coding it lol
